During the 1998 Spice Girl Concert in the Bay Area, we ventured out to the parkinglot; freshly inspired by John Heyn & Jeff Krulik's - "Heavy Metal Parkinglot."

I threw the idea at my friend Paul Hanson, and we dragged him (... quite literally I might add - in a fluffy pink baby doll dress, make-up, and of course some non-sensible yet stylish shoes), to Mountain View in order to document his interaction with the rabid concert goers. Pop culture, music, a dash of performance art and satire combine to hopefully entertain the viewer, as "Baby Jane Spice" struts her girl power!

Included is a remote filming via Mike Baden, who collaborated with us from Phoenix. Spice Girl Parkinglot is a candid look that now stands as an artifact of the spirit that was known as the Girl Power Phenomenon.

The intent of this project was for some friends to get together for a fun and silly afternoon, while gathering some material that would allow me to learn digital video editing. Though extremely raw, it's been well received by an audience of fans via the internet, and has garnered attention from sites such as MP4.com where it was a Featured Indie Film Pick in 2003.
